The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. The only problem is that the robot is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning on the app will tell you precisely what the robot has completed, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs must be completed like emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time as well, with the mop being able to operate for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you see all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship best robot vacuum that mops vacuum and mop. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs and Robots That Vacuum and Mop other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tested, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.

The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount for washing manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these using the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to allow voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while reducing time.

It can also be programmed to eliminate areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.

The app is user-friendly and easy to use and the X40's clever features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot vacuums best that is among the most expensive models available, but it packs in a lot of additional features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and dirty spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature as it stops the build-up of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a good way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app, or via direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with several features that aren't available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list, at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels robust and well built. Mopping is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
