It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This robot autonomous vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy units of the competitors. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is its most advanced model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings prior to work or at night when you're trying to sleep.

Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and washes and dries its mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home in accordance with the amount of dirt they are.

If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a robot vacuum that vacuums and mops that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. A stair mode can be useful if you own a number of furniture.
