If you're on a tight budget and don't require a stroller that can double up as a car seat carrier, the Babyzen Yoyo is a good choice. It features a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.

It's also a breeze to push and feels sturdy when navigating kerbs or woodland pathways. Additionally, it's easy to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a reputation for being the ultimate stroller that is light, ideal for city dwellers as well jet-setters. This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents who want an affordable second stroller for their travels. It scored well in our Strollers and Multiples Test for weight and folded dimensions. This means it's lightweight, compact when folded, and easy to move and store in a trunk of a car. It also features a multi-position reclined seat and an integrated cup holder for the parent. Other features of note include 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels and two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling.

In our push and turn test it performed better than the majority of other strollers that we tested, but it's still not the most comfortable to maneuver on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades are among the most compact we tested, with only direct overhead coverage, and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have significantly larger canopies.

The Delta took us just over 3 minutes to put together using an average manual and all of the components required tools. It's missing certain features we consider essential for double strollers. They include a large basket, reclining seats and adjustable leg rests.

The front wheels can be locked in forward positions or let them swivel which helps when covering rough terrain. When we walked on the stony path, we let them swivel and it did this quite well although it did seem slightly bumpier than other models that we tested.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is known for their all-terrain, 3-wheeler Jogging pushchairs, however they also have a wide selection of 4-wheel strollers. The City Tour 2 is one of their most sought-after models. It is simple to use and folds up small enough to fit into the car boot, even with the carrycot attached.

It is heavier than the other strollers we've tested, but because it comes with rubber composite wheels it feels solid and well-constructed. It is easy to maneuver on different terrains and even with two children as well as a shopping bag and other things.

The carrycot and seat both come with hoods with pull-down sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are durable and waterproof, in contrast to other prams hoods which can be blown back into toddlers' faces.
