Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable, acing our tests for cleaning and taking on a variety of floor types. Choose models that allow users to select between different modes, including self-emptying and clean stairs.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

The S1 was able to map my downstairs quickly, which includes flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms and a medium-pile and a large rug. It was capable of driving close to walls and even cross raised thresholds without any problems. However it was a bit difficult getting down the stairs in one go. The S1 did a good job cleaning hard floors. The mop sped along on its flat side and lifted itself when it came to carpets or rug.

The docking station of the S1 automatically empties its dust bin and refills its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated waters prior to each mopping session. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 cleaning sessions, but this will vary dependent on how often you use the mop.

The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like any other 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to periodically rinse out the dirty tank to keep it from becoming blocked. It is also necessary to clean the swivel wheels and sensors regularly to prevent them from getting clogged by dust or dirt. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

The mopping feature is pretty impressive, and comes with two spinning mops that actually lift and scrub floors instead of just dragging the pad over it. The mops are cleaned with heated water and dried in the base station when needed. The mops can also be filled at the top of the station if required.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year however their latest top-of-the-line robot vacuum reviews vacuum and mop has even more impressive features. It is a great cleaner, and it is easy to maintain. This makes it a worthy contender for our list of the top mops and robot vacuums. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush ensure a thorough, customised clean.
